James H. Muldoon

James H. Muldoon was born Sept. 11, 1921, and died Sunday, March 20 at Regent Court. He was 83.

Jim Muldoon was born in Valley City, N.D. to William and Hattie (Webster) Muldoon. He graduated from high school at Drake, N.D., where he lived with his foster parents, Rev. and Mrs. H. C. Knuth, now deceased.

He attended Bethel Junior College in St. Paul, Minn. He also attended the University of Minnesota. Later, desiring to become a teacher, he earned his bachelor's degree from the State University at Valley City. Eventually, he earned his master's degree at OSU.

Jim taught school for six years in North Dakota before moving in 1953 with his sister Sally to Corvallis. She died in 2001. He taught at the Monroe and Harding elementary schools. He finished his career after 27 years at the Corvallis High School. Jim retired in 1982.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 24, at Oak Lawn Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Corvallis First Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Knopp will officiate. McHenry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
