Jeri Withrow passed away April 1, 2016, in St. George, Utah, after a brave five-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her husband Jim was by her side.

Olie Jeraldine Thornton was born on Sept. 16, 1932, in North Hollywood, California, to Margaret and John Thornton. She grew up in Van Nuys, California, with her two older brothers, Jay and John. She graduated from Van Nuys High School and married her high school sweetheart. They moved to Corvallis, and Jeri helped Jim through college at OSU. They lived in Corvallis for 63 years.

Jeri was famous for her homemade apple pie. She was a member of Grace, Shepard of the Valley, Peace and Zion Lutheran churches and served on various charitable committees. Jeri and Jim sold their beloved country home in December 2014. They moved to Utah to live with their daughter. Jeri was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and Christian.

Jeri was preceded in death by her parents and brothers.

She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, James L. Withrow; daughter and son in-law Amby and Kevin Pedersen; granddaughters and their spouses: Morgan J. Meyers and David Meyers, and Stacia Lynn Edmonds and Jacob Edmonds; and her two beautiful great-grandchildren, Cohen Thomas Edmonds (8 months) and Madelyn Gwen Meyers (3 months old).

Jeri will be interred at Oaklawn Cemetery in Corvallis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jeri's name to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or to the Grace Center in Corvallis (gracecenter-corvallis.org).
