Paul Daniel McKenzie, 68, died Aug. 19 in Silverton.

He was born in Corvallis to Roderick and Phyllis Kemp McKenzie and graduated from Corvallis High School in 1965. He married Suzanne R. Schoblom on May 19, 1973 in Corvallis.He attended OSU for a brief time and then enlisted in the Air Force. He served in Vietnam for one year.

He then went to Lane Community College where he became a certified airframe and power plant mechanic. He worked at Columbia Helicopters.

He was a volunteer firefighter in Gervais, Woodburn and Mt. Angel. He enjoyed hiking, model aircraft and tinkering.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne McKenzie; son John S. McKenzie; daughters Claire R. (McKenzie) Chadney and Elizabeth L. McKenzie; brother Michael McKenzie; sister Mary (McKenzie) Strother; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at the Woodburn Fire Department, 1776 Newberg Highway, Woodburn.
