Glen Rader Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glen L. Rader Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Glen was born in Medford OR on April 8, 1947, and departed this world on December 4, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Glen graduated from Corvallis High School in 1965. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Air Policeman from 1967 to 1970. Following his military service, he devoted his career to protecting and serving as an Oregon State Trooper from 1970 until his retirement in 1997. Glen obtained a B.S. in the Social Sciences from Oregon College of Education. Starting in 1997, he worked for FEMA and was involved in support during several of the country's natural disasters. When our country was attacked on 9/11 he worked at ground zero with FEMA for numerous months. A true hero and leader for his generation.

Glen was a devoted husband to Linda, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Glen is survived by his three children: Scott Rader (Julie) of Sherwood, Richard Rader (Kate) of Roseburg, and Emily Gors of Salem. He also leaves behind five adoring grandchildren who were the light of his life, as well as his remarkable mother, Margaret, who at 103 years old, continues to inspire the family with her resilience.

Glen was more than a law enforcement officer; he was a vibrant presence in his community. He found immense joy in coaching youth baseball, sharing his passion for the game and mentoring young athletes. Glen was also an avid car enthusiast who cherished his membership in the Willamette Valley Street Rods car club, often seen proudly driving his prized 64' Thunderbird.

Glen's kind spirit and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A celebration of Glen's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a youth baseball organization of your choice or the Oregon Fallen Badge Association, reflecting Glen’s commitment to empowering the next generation and supporting his fellow first responders.

Rest in peace, Glen. You will be forever in our hearts.
