Dec. 20, 1925 - July 3, 2004
R.Chris Christianson was born in Wilmington California to Sigrid and Chris Christianson on December 20, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 and returned to Silverton, Oregon where he married Delores Bodeen, his loving wife and companion for 57 years. Chris attended Oregon State University where he received a bachelor's degree in education and later completed his master's degree. Also during college, Chris was a four-year letterman in baseball.
He taught and coached high school students for 33 years in Corvallis. He loved to share and never ceased to teach. He sought out every opportunity to enjoy nature; bird watching, rock collecting and his passion, fishing. He loved his family, and although he and Dee only had two daughters, he was chosen by many others to be their second dad. He was generous, enthusiastic and always open to adventure and fun. He loved God and the United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Christianson; daughters, Norma Daily and Kay Graven; son-in-law, Greg Graven; granddaughter, Lisa Smith; grandson, Ryan Graven; sister, Martha Bupp; brother, James Christianson of Washington; and many nieces and nephews. He loved them well.
