Lynn John Lawrence of Corvallis died Friday at Samaritan Heart of the Valley Care Center. He was 86.

He was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Mark and Sylvia Chedsey Lawrence. He was supervisor of music for the Corvallis Public School, high school orchestra director and concert master for the Corvallis-OSU Symphony for 27 years. He retired in 1982.

Survivors include his wife of more than 58 years, Marylou; sons, Dugan and Steven of Corvallis, Rick of Junction City and Brad of Pullman, Wash.; daughter, Kinnie Peterson of Bend; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at McHenry Funeral Home.
