Donita and I did not know each other in high school. We met at Linn Benton Community College in 1969 to 1970. We found out through discussions about our childhood that we both went to Corvallis High School. What a surprise when we found out we graduated together. She even sat behind me in one of our classes but we traveled in different crowds and never really knew each other.
We became best friends and practically lived together for many years. Our boys were born one year apart , both born on December 3 (her son, Billy, in 1969 and my son, James, in 1970). Our friendship lasted until her death in 2004. She had emphysema caused from smoking. She was the best friend I ever had and I miss her very much.
